Magnificent microscopic creatures visible through the light microscope, the gallery shows a range of very common freshwater animals like water fleas, hydras and rotifers. Most of the critters are less than a millimeter and they are nearly almost transparent and in order to see them various microscopy techniques have to be applied and fluorescence is one of the most spectacular ones as the objects themselves emit light when exposed to ultra-violet.
The photography techniques used are among the most challenging and expensive and most of images are generated by means of combined together a number of shots. The photographer is a biology student and he takes pictures for science purposes but shares the most spectacular shots so people could get an idea of how fascinating the microscopic world is.
